Stone Age Social Networks May Have Resembled Ours →
infoneer-pulse:
If you ever sit back and wonder what it might have been like to live in the late Pleistocene, you’re not alone. That’s right about when humans emerged from a severe population bottleneck and began to expand globally. But, apparently, life back then might not have been too different than how we live today (that is, without the cars, the written language, and of course, the...

Nintendo Announces Online Gaming Network... →
Better late than never eh?
We can’t help but feel this lack of social gaming may be a factor affecting Nintendo’s reported loss.
We would love to see a MMORPG around the Pokémon Series, reminiscent of good old Blue & Red on the Gameboy, and we do agree with critics, the firm need to focus on content and not hardware, some titles have been rather lacklustre of late.

It seems the behemoth is getting geared up for an IPO ahead of it’s widely predicted March date.
Taking it beyond the marketing department...
“Call it catharsis, digital-age rage, or even Internet insanity.
With the megaphone of social media, even a few wayward comments — not to mention a scathing rant — can seriously damage your brand’s reputation. And that sentiment has the capacity to travel at a velocity never before seen.
The problem: In far too many organizations, it’s the marketing and corporate communications departments...
Ready or Not, You're Getting Facebook Timeline... →
Facebook always receives a strong backlash when it forces UI changes onto its users.
There’s still a proportion that don’t mind these changes and embrace them earlier via the opt-in, but those that didn’t embrace Timeline back when the option was made available to users in Sept for devs and December for normal folk.
My opinion is that it’s a great way of being able to...

Anonymous has upped its game in DDoS attacks on the witch hunt by the U.S. Government, getting smart with javascript and HTML meaning users could unwittingly be aiding to the DDoS which, traditionally required the Low Orbit Iron Cannon (a small software program named after a weapon in Star Trek which acts as a DDoS client).
It must be noted though that the argument of ignorance is not a...
Google Now Has 90 Million Users [Mashable] →
the ‘newest’ social network (I use the term roughly as there have been many more networks established since +’s launch last year) Google+ has surpassed 90 million users according to sources.
With predicted growth on track for 400 million by August 2012 one has to be amazed at the high rate of growth the network is experiencing, even though Facebook predicts 1 BILLION by the...

It makes sense that with all the data it holds it would only be a matter of time before Google started pulling all this together to optimise and personalize searches.

Facebook's Most Popular Status-Trends 2011
Status updates on the Facebook platform have come a long way from the 420 character “What’s on your mind?” retort that has been a fundamental aspect since it’s inception.
We’re now given over 60,000 characters (63,206 to be exact; we had be given 500 then a rise to 5000 over the summer), we can check into places from our desktop, tag friends like we could on our...

Duke Nukem Twitter Flummox - How not to handle...
The recent launch after 14 years of waiting of the next instalment of cult video games character Duke Nukem. So much has changed since it’s last release in terms of publicity and PR, no longer are games reliant as much on paper publications (who remembers the days of GamesMaster on TV, let alone reading the quality monthly mag, which is in it’s 18th year now!) and TV show plugs, now...

Adele is in the headlines a lot lately, her recent chart success with 15 weeks (not consecutive) at the number one album spot now, and was the first artist to achieve simultaneous two top five hits in both the single and album chart since The Beatles in 1964.
It is since the release of her second album and her blow away performance of its first single on the 2011 BRIT awards however, that her...
